Description Description
Enjoy effortless private beach access from this cozy cottage, with an oceanfront porch directly on the dune. Drink your morning coffee alfresco and watch the sun rise over the ocean. Step straight off the porch into the sand and take a leisurely stroll. Enjoy the shade of the porch while you watch dolphins jump and ospreys hunt for their lunch. Have an afternoon swim and pop back inside for a slice of watermelon and an ice-cold drink. Sharpen your surf fishing and shell spotting skills. The world is your oyster!

This original 1950s cottage was built when the island was first developed and is still owned by the same family. It features four bedrooms upstairs, a small bathroom with a shower, and an extra half bath. The huge dining table has room for meals as well as puzzles and board games. The washer are dryer are located in the garage on the ground floor. There is NO interior connection from the upper to lower level of the property. The laundry area is accessed by a set of exterior stairs.

NOTE: The house previously had a bedroom and bathroom available on the ground floor which is no longer accessible. Some reviews refer to this previously accessible area.

The house is conveniently located just one mile south of the bridge and town center. This is a relatively quiet stretch of beach, away from public beach accesses and busy rental houses.

Great Location
This home is dated but allowed us to bring our pups and the location is great! Not close to public beach access which allows for less crowding and stepping off the deck onto the beach is wonderful! With the sunrise and the waves crashing we'd definitely come back!

Great oceanfront spot for families including fur babies
We loved the house which had a very retro vibe and the location. There were multiple bird houses next door and it was lovely to hear them against the surf each morning. Would stay here again.

Nice but read the fine print
Access to the beach was outstanding! Down the steps and you are at the water. Between public access so walk down and put your chairs right at the water. Even on the 4th of July.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Cute beach home with a beautiful beach front view. 😍 Very happy the kitchen was stocked with most everything we needed to cook through the week. Short distance from shops if you wanted to walk. Just be aware the master bed and bath are in the downstairs completely separate from the main house. No access except from outside. Not ideal if you are using it and traveling with young children.

Great beach house for a family stay or a group getaway
Plenty of beds and enough room to maneuver for a family. The beach is right outside the door, with a large covered porch for inclement weather. We stayed here in the off season, but the beaches weren’t too crowded. Groceries are a short drive away with choice of stores to shop at. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. We would stay here again.

Total Salt Life Vibe!
Love that this house is in the sand! Not a long walkway and tons of steps to get to the beach. Especially when I have a senior dog that cannot do stairs well. It is a true original Surf City beach bungalow. We LOVE it!!

The shortest distance we have ever had to go to the beach. Is great for people or dogs that cannot walk far. Charming original beach bungalow. It is sandy, but when you get there, you will see why. You are literally on the beach and it was so great not having to drag beach items so far, and great from my older dog with leg issues. The back porch is fantastic. We had the best time!

Men's church fishing trip....
We loved our stay,your steps from the ocean... House was great for 11... Everything was as it was supposed to,if your looking for and old school beach house,this is the one for you and the price was very fair...Thanks again ,would definitely rent again.. Ocean front, child and dog friendly.
We really enjoyed our four day stay. House was as advertised and as expected. Digital entry made checking in and out very simple. Large driveway and open area under living space gave easy packing/unpacking/storage while at the home. Washer and dryer in the lower level was a big plus as we could keep up with our laundry.

Nice House and location
In general, we really liked this house and especially the location. Stepping off the deck onto the Beach was a big plus. The kitchen is adequately stocked, the furniture is comfortable and plenty of seating. We had a great time.
