Definitely a five star rating here. As we expected, Almost Heaven exceeded our expectations. Everything we needed was here prior to our arrival. The weather was warm enough each day for us to enjoy time on the beach. The name, almost heaven, is definitely descriptive of this wonderful place - cannot wait to be able to come down again. Thank you to the owner and Carolina Coast retreats.

We have been coming to Topsail for 15 years and have stayed in at least a dozen properties and Almost Heaven is one of the very best. The location is great being near the North bridge in a narrow part of the island so it will never be crowded and you have an unobstructed view of the beach so it’s essentially ocean front. As for the house, this property by far was the best stocked property we’ve rented. It’s clear the owner treats this house more like her home and not just a rental property. The kitchen is very well stocked and all of the appliances are in great shape. There are also just enough personal touches that make you feel more like you’re visiting a friend for the week. You will not be disappointed if you stay at Almost Heaven.

This was our second time staying in this home and we truly love it. The location, amenities, cleanliness—all perfect for two families with young kids. Our only negative experience was with the property manager rather than the house itself. The downstairs AC broke down during our stay and it took well over 24 hours for them to send a service technician. Then, after it was serviced, it failed again. We still hadn’t heard back from Vacasa after notifying them about the second failure by the time we checked out. This was during the hottest week of the summer thus far (over 100° heat index), so it was uncomfortable for our downstairs guests. Issues like this are expected from time to time, especially when the AC unit is under so much stress, but we were disappointed in Vacasa’s responsiveness. In the future, it would be helpful if they could at least offer to drop off a dehumidifier to keep things more comfortable while guests wait for a repair technician.

Well appointed home with plenty of room for our whole family. The kitchen was amazingly well stocked. The owner added lovely touches such as beach towels and robes. The house provided a great selection of beach chairs and toys . Plenty of deck chairs for viewing the ocean.

Almost Heaven is a large, comfortable stay in a calm area of Topsail that is a short drive to both Surf City and Sneads Ferry. The owners left so many thoughtful amenities and information that made us feel welcome and at home immediately! The view is beautiful and the private beach walkway were great for our family. Our stay at Almost Heaven was AMAZING!!! The home is so beautiful and spacious. Our son and family joined us for a few days along with visits from our North Carolina kids and there was plenty of room for seven adults and six children. The kids loved the kids room with the huge bunks and stuffed sea creatures. The three king beds and queen were super comfy with lots of pillows and extra blankets. The kitchen had every appliance you could ask for. The garage was great for keeping the salt air off the vehicles. And beach amenities, where do I start? Beach chairs, toys, umbrellas, wagon, sun shades, the works. The fire pit was great as well as the charcoal grill. The very best part was the deck. Every morning there was a beautiful sunrise and then the dolphins. Even on chilly mornings we could sit in the sun and enjoy the waves and the ocean. Almost Heaven was a vacation we will NEVER forget.

We had such a great vacation at Almost Heaven! It fit what we needed for our family and we loved the view from the top deck with the tall chairs! We also enjoyed the fire pit so much! We even had the privilege of watching a fisherman reel in a sizeable shark from our balcony. Great week!

We had a wonderful stay at Almost Heaven. We were so impressed with the house. It was so kept up and had a ton of stuff in it to use. The garage is fully stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys. You do not need to bring a thing. The kitchen is fully stocked with any sort of pot, pan, bowl…anything you need. They had games to use. The deck has a beautiful view with nice high-quality patio furniture on it. I really can’t say enough good things about the house. We had 13 people in it and still had plenty of room. We had a slight problem with the key code not working upon arrival. I called Vacasa to get help with the issue and they were amazing and quick with their response. They helped us get in and then had a local employee follow up with us. The house is located about half a mile south of the towns local public beach. It was a nice walk to go check out the pier and the local turtle rescue was active one morning releasing the sea turtles which only one of our group got to witness but very cool!

The house is setback from the dunes a short distance with a boardwalk to the beach. It is spacious, well stocked with lots of thoughtful touches noticed throughout the house, such as towels for the beach.

60 years of marriage ended in October of last year. My husband left me, heavenly bound. My friend suggested this vacation beach house, Almast z heaven.” So my two elderly sisters, sister-in-law, three very good friends and a niece decided to go together. The accommodations and amenities were above and beyond any that any of us has experienced in all of our travels. Anything we needed or wanted was there. The view from the deck to the ocean was breathtaking. The night sky mesmerized us when my son, who lives in Hampstead, came to visit and pointed it out to us. I downloaded an app on my phone and could identify the constellations. The sky was so clear we saw the Milky Way. I cannot thank the owners enough for how their dream home welcomed us and gave us all- especially me - time to really relax. This is not a commercial beach. It is calm, safe, beautiful. The house is beautifully decorated, impeccably furnished and clean. I highly recommend it. Do the virtual tour. Then go for yourself on a real tour. You will not be disappointed I Guarantee it! 👏👏

The house was really close to the beach with a great view! The Fire pit was fun and it was so nice not having to bring beach chairs and a tarp. The beds and furniture were comfy. The back porch needs some kind of awning. Most days it was too hot to sit outside without shade. There are cameras in and outside of the house, which we didn’t appreciate…we’re not fans of being watched. Overall a great house with a couple issues. The cameras and cleanliness will keep us from coming back.

Our group (10 adults and 4 kids ranging in age from 1 to 6) had a wonderful stay at Almost Heaven. It was the most well-appointed rental home any of us had ever stayed in. It is truly stocked with everything you could possibly need. Don’t bother bringing anything for the beach. They have dozens of beach towels and plenty of beach toys, canopies, chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and a beach wagon. The walk-in closet in one of the bedrooms on the main floor was so large, we were able to set up the pack n play in there and use it as a room for the baby at night. The beach is even closer than it looks in pictures and there is a Food Lion right down the road. It’s a bit of a drive (15-20 minutes or more, depending on traffic) to get to anything commercial, but we like it that way. The beach felt very private even during one of the busiest vacation weeks of the year. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay.

We recently had a delightful stay at this well-equipped beach house. It was a serene and beautiful location, with attention to detail. The house boasts calming coastal charm. The kitchen was fully equipped and a pleasure to cook in, while the bedrooms provided comfort and tranquility. The outdoor space was well-maintained and ideal for relaxation. The beach house also offered a range of recreational amenities, including indoor games and beach toys. that kept our group having fun all day. The home was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The amount of amenities provided was simply incredible. Also, we have never seen a kitchen stocked with so many utensils, etc… The only negatives I can think of is the house does not have an elevator. This wasn’t a problem for my family but may be for some elderly guests. Of course the view and fire pit were big hits. I would not hesitate reserving this home again in the future.

This is the most beautiful vacation home! They have spared no expense in providing everything you could ever want or need while at the beach. It was so nice to not pack beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, etc. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook and eat in. The furniture and beds were top notch. It was so clean! So many extras-the outdoor bed swing, jacuzzi tub, and fire pit were amazing! It was perfect and we will definitely be back!

This was my family & I first experience with a rental home and we absolutely loved it! The house was rlly clean and they had all the necessities we needed from appliances to more than enough washcloths and towels…more than enough towels!! Only reason i didn’t give them 5 stars is the trash bin was already full before we got there so we really didn’t have anywhere to put the trash bags we used. Im looking into booking with vacasa our next trip soon!!!!!

Well stocked, well maintained, plenty of toiletries. Backyard opens directly into a private beach - very clean beach. We were 4 families, with kids and all had loads of fun. Nothing to complain, just praises. Location is perfect for a peaceful, laid back vacation, away from the crowds. Entry & checkout were a breeze! Will definitely come again

Beautiful home in a great location. It had everything we needed - from an overabundance of electrical outlets to tons of kitchenware. The only thing that could have been better would have been a note telling us where to find the beach chairs, perhaps near the beach towels? We read through the house manual and didn't find any info about it there. It was only when we went back into the app that we were able to find out they were in the basement.

What a beautiful vacation home! It is impeccably decorated in southern style. Many amenities were enjoyed throughout. There are decks that have open views of the ocean and a private boardwalk that leads directly to the beach. If you love spending a peaceful day, on the beach, and relaxing by a fire pit, at night, this is your place. There is a woodburning fire pit, on the back side of the house, and a gas fire pit, on the upper deck. There is nothing more peaceful than sipping a beverage, watching a beautiful fire, and listening to the sound of waves crashing. This home is spacious and has a two car garage. We loved that the beach umbrellas, chairs, tents, toys, and a wagon, for transport, were all available for our use. The large kitchen was fully stocked and all we needed was a close trip, to the grocery store, to eat in house. However, there are plenty of wonderful places to dine out. It was so nice to just show up, at this beautiful beach vacation home and have everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. It was a little piece of heaven, for sure!

We've stayed at many houses in this area over the years but this one is truly a gem! It was perfect for our family - we love the direct beach access, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds & linens (all pre-made) and abundance of towels - bath, beach and those usually elusive kitchen towels. Comfortable, roomy den, huge outdoor shower with a bench seat and fully stocked garage with chairs and beach toys - even an extra freezer! Also appreciated the high chair & baby gate for the little one, porch swing, and beautiful decor and special touches - shampoo, makeup remover, etc. Many personal touches make this house stand above and beyond the rest!

The home was exactly as described with so many personal touches here and there. The space was more than accommodating for our party of 9, everyone had more than enough room to spread out and relax. The kitchen was fully stocked to cook anything from casual to fine dining. Our kids enjoyed the games and karaoke machine while the adults enjoyed the fire pit and the decks. Our family can’t wait to come back, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a beach getaway.

Comfortable, roomy den, huge outdoor shower with a bench seat and fully stocked garage with chairs and beach toys - even an extra freezer! Also appreciated the high chair & baby gate for the little one, porch swing, and beautiful decor and special touches - shampoo, makeup remover, etc. Many personal touches make this house stand above and beyond the rest!

This house was perfect for our family of 10. We have been to topsoil for a few years and the house was equipped with everything that we needed. The view was spectacular. The beds were comfortable.

The home was exactly as described with so many personal touches here and there. The space was more than accommodating for our party of 9, everyone had more than enough room to spread out and relax. The kitchen was fully stocked to cook anything from casual to fine dining. Our kids enjoyed the games and karaoke machine while the adults enjoyed the fire pit and the decks. Our family can’t wait to come back, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a beach getaway.

The house was perfect, clean, and exactly as advertised. The kitchen is very well equipped and the perfect space for feeding a big group. The fire pit is an added bonus for a calm evening. We appreciated it very much and would certainly come back.
